If you just don’t have the money to fork out for tickets to big stadium gigs and long for the day you can see your musical heroes on your own doorstep, you may be in luck if you live by the coast, as there is a little cafe in Tynemouth that has had all the big names flocking, well not entirely, but the next best thing anyway!
You’d be lucky these to pay anything less than £100 to see one of your favourite acts in action on a stadium tour these days, with ticket prices showing no signs of slowing down. Just last year, there was huge backlash against Ticketmaster, when the site implemented what they called ‘dynamic pricing’ for Oasis’ much demand reunion tour, with fans ending up shelling out more than £400 per ticket.
Well, you shouldn’t have need to face an agonising wait in online queues or break the bank to see some top notch music at The Greenhouse Cafe./Bar in Tynemouth Park, as in the last year alone, they have welcomed soundalikes of Elton John, Bruce Springsteen, The Beatles and Michael Jackson for a very budget friendly sum.
All tickets for a tribute to the Rocket Man himself, Sir Elton, were snapped up at the back end of last year, as doppelganger Elton Joel played all the hits, including festive classic Step into Christmas, in front of a packed crowd at The Greenhouse. There was also standing room only when Michael Jackson act Raw entertained and to see The Music of The Beatles Unplugged and The NE Street Band perform all the belters from The Boss’ back catalogue.
If you prefer to be a bit more dancing and singing along on your nights out, rather than letting someone else do the entertaining, The Greenhouse has also hosted its own Mamma Mia themed Summer Party, while in the diary for Mothers Day, Sunday, March 30 is a Night at the Musicals, featuring top theatre stars from both sides of the Atlantic.
