The University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA) has responded to recently resurfaced photos showing Kendrick Lamar attending classes.
Photos of K Dot studying went viral these week, with one tweet from a parody account on the site formerly known as Twitter suggesting he was taking psychology courses to “master his pen.”
In response to the viral posts, UCLA responded, “Photos from 2022, but the lesson stays the same—UCLA is where you level up.”
As reported by Billboard, the photos first started to circulate on TikTok after a user shared a video featuring the snaps alongside the caption, “pov: just a normal day at UCLA.” In the comments of the post, they also clarified that the pictures were taken in 2022.
“This was in 2022, he was incredibly kind and humble,” they wrote. “I didn’t realize who he was at that time… I just saw people asking for photos, and I took some too. … It wasn’t until later that someone told me who he was. I might take this post down since I don’t know if sharing it is the right thing to do.”
It’s unclear what he was studying, despite the claims that he was studying psychology.
