YoungBoy Never Broke Again Accepts Plea Deal in Prescription Drug Fraud Case

YoungBoy Never Broke Again appeared in court on Monday to accept a plea deal in his prescription drug fraud case in Utah.

According to ABC4 Utah, YoungBoy has pleaded guilty to multiple charges, including two counts of third-degree felony identity fraud, two counts of third-degree felony forgery, and six counts of misdemeanor unlawful pharmacy conduct.

YoungBoy, whose real name is Kentrell DeSean Gaulden, will also be required to pay a $25,000 fine.

As part of his plea deal, the 25-year-old rapper will not face time behind bars because there is an expectation that he will serve 27 months in prison for related charges in a federal case.

“I’ve seen so many times where you have young men and women who have a lot of talent and potential. They can be robbed of that potential when they start to really struggle with their addictions,” Logan District Judge Spencer Walsh told YoungBoy during his hearing, according to KSL. “I don’t want that for you.”

“I’m sure that in your future, once you’re done with your federal prison time, you can be really successful on federal probation and have a really bright future where you can reach your full potential in every aspect of your life,” Walsh continued. “Best of luck to you, Mr. Gaulden.”

YoungBoy will be placed on probation for five years following his release.

Per KSL, state prosecutor Ronnie Keller said the prescription fraud case reportedly began when law enforcement detained five people in YoungBoy’s car attempting to pick up a fraudulent prescription. A suspicious call from someone posing as someone named Gwendolyn White, who couldn’t provide a birth year, raised red flags among pharmacists who recognized the voice under different first name.

According to ABC 4, the “House Arrest Tingz” rapper was relocated to Utah to avoid trouble following his alleged involvement in a 2019 Miami shooting.

In April, YoungBoy was arrested in Utah on multiple charges, including prescription drug fraud, identity fraud, and weapons possession, allegedly affecting 15 Cache County pharmacies. The arrest occurred while he was on house arrest for federal gun charges, which he was accused of violating earlier in February.
