Zara McDermott has broken her silence on rumours she’s going to be part of this year’s I’m A Celeb line-up – after boyfriend Sam Thompson was crowned King of the Jungle.
The star, who was unable to fly to Australia herself because of her own starring role on Strictly Come Dancing, has long been tipped as a future contender on the ITV series.
Speaking to Gaby Roslin on BBC Radio 2, she refused to rule out a turn in the jungle – but insisted her Made In Chelsea boyfriend would be a tough act to follow.
Zara said: “Who knows, you never know what’s going to happen. I don’t know if I could follow his crowning. How could I ever follow that?'”

She also defended not supporting Sam in person – after her absence when he won the show was described by some critics at the time as a “snub”.
The star added: “The end of Strictly and the jungle overlapped so I couldn’t go but his best friend Pete went out there. It was lovely for them to have that moment.”
The show’s final in November final saw Sam crowned champion, with boxer Tony Bellew finishing in second and former politician Nigel Farage in third place.
He told hosts Ant and Dec: “I’ve dreamt of doing this show for years and years and you made this boy’s dream come true.”
The win raised his profile to such a degree ITV offered him a job as a roving reporter on This Morning and he has also appeared on the final episode of Ant and Dec’s Saturday Night Takeaway.
Sam and Zara first got together in 2019 after her relationship with Adam Collard crumbled and Sam failed to find love on Celebs Go Dating.
The reality TV veterans – he found fame on Made In Chelsea while she was known for Love Island – have proved a favourite couple among fans.
