Santa’s grotto has come to Kenton this weekend for a heart-warming event.
The owners of Arlington Convenience Store on the Montagu Estate in Kenton, Newcastle, have forked out for a festively free community event. Families were treated to food and drink with children being gifted presents by Santa Claus himself. The store said up to 200 children went along to the popular event.
The owners of the store felt like they needed to give something back to the community at a time when many are feeling the pinch due to the rising cost of living and unemployment. A planned marquee outside the shop had to be cancelled at the last minute due to the high winds – but kids and parents alike were able to warm up inside and feel festive!
