Arsenal provide major Newcastle United Adidas kit hint ahead of official launch

Anticipation continues to build as Newcastle United’s eagerly-awaited Adidas launch draws ever closer ahead of a busy summer. The German manufacturing giants are preparing to unveil their first Newcastle offering since 2010, with supporters impatiently waiting to see whether the final product will match the insatiable hype of recent months.

Until then, the Newcastle faithful will have to take inspiration from elsewhere and can find just that by looking at Arsenal‘s latest kit release. The Gunners’ 2024/25 Adidas kits were unveiled on Wednesday, with the famous Arsenal crest being replaced their famous cannon logo on the chest of the shirt.

Another noticeable Adidas spot was the decision to put their iconic three stripes on the shoulder section of the shirt. This seems to be a running theme across all of the brand’s recent designs, with many Euro 2024 teams enjoying similar patterns ahead of the tournament. Belgium, Germany, Italy and Spain will all don shirts with the same shoulder marking at the summer showpiece.

Plenty of mocked up images have been doing the rounds of late, with Newcastle supporters speculating as to what Adidas may have come up with. Interestingly, some recent designs circulated on social media have shown the new Magpies home kit with the same shoulder stripes included.

Fans don’t have long to wait to get their hands on the new kit, with a brand new, temporary Adidas store being erected outside St James’ Park. The location will open its doors on May 29th, with the new 2024/25 kit arriving on June 7th.

Supporters may not have seen the new design in the flesh but one man who has is promising big things upon its release date. Craig Buglass, a former Nike and Puma designer, had a hand in the consultation stage of the kits and was left ‘blown away’ by the outcome.

“I’ve been lucky enough to be subject to what the kits are going to look like and I’ve got to say the fans will be absolutely blown away,” he told ChronicleLive earlier this year. “If you see all of the work that they have done with Arsenal and Man United, what we experienced in the ’90s is just going to be overshadowed a zillion times. The plans that they have got in place for the team are going to be amazing.”
