A Boogie Wit Da Hoodie teamed up with New York’s Sei Less co-owner Dara Mirjahangiry to provide Thanksgiving meals for 50 teenagers from Children of Promise, NYC.
The event at the Asian fusion restaurant served teens impacted by the criminal justice system, supporting the nonprofit’s mission to empower youth and remove the stigma of incarceration within Black and Brown communities.
Boogie made a surprise appearance at the dinner, during which he posed for photos and talked with those in attendance.
“Giving back to my community, especially bringing joy to these kids who’ve been impacted by the criminal justice system meant so much,” A Boogie said in a press release shared with Complex. “Hearing their stories reminds me why it’s so important to be thankful for what you have. I’m grateful to have played a part in bringing smiles to their faces this holiday season.”
Mirjahangiry and the team from the celeb-favorite eatery served signature menu items including Beijing chicken and vegetable lo mein.
“We’re proud to continue fostering connections between music, fine dining, and community,” Mirjahangiry said in the press release. “This Thanksgiving dinner is just one way Sei Less is giving back to those who need it most, and we’re grateful to A Boogie for helping make it a night to remember.”
