The countdown to announcing a King or Queen of the I’m A Celeb jungle is now on as the first celebrity was voted out in Friday night’s episode (November 29). After receiving the most votes, Loose Women host Jane Moore walked across the famous bridge to be greeted by their family and friends.
The 62 year old, who was in the bottom two with Dean McCullough, happily bounded out from camp with Ant and Dec, admitting she’ll “look back on this experience with the fondest of fond memories.”
And, as Jane arrived back to the hotel in Australia, she was met with a warm welcome and appeared in high spirits as she met the loved ones of her fellow campmates.
Not only was she greeted by her own daughters – who told her she “smelled” – on the iconic jungle bridge earlier, Jane met Coleen Rooney’s two youngest children Kit, eight and Cass, six. Also cheering her on was Alan Halsall’s brother Stephen, GK Barry’s manager Holly and Melvin Odoom’s sister Yonah.
Although no doubt a bittersweet moment for Jane – who said she was relieved to be on dry land and sipping Prosecco, admitting that “water isn’t for her” – the TV star told Ant and Dec that she’d “do it all again in a heartbeat”.
Speaking to Dec Jane said: “It’s such a weird and magical experience. People always say it’s the best experience of your life -I wouldn’t quite put it that way with the rain. I’ve never been so soaked in all my life constantly. But all those guys are absolutely wonderful people, I’ve loved getting to know them all.”
Ant questioned her on whether she’s disappointed to be the first to leave, to which she laughed and replied: “No more washing up! I can’t wait to get rid of that, I’m never washing up again.!
Citing “getting to know the others” her favourite part of taking part, she has a couple of winners in mind. “The quiet, hard workers. Melvin and Coleen – they’re not flamboyant but solid.”
On the lead up to Jane’s departure, it had been a rather dramatic week in camp as things started to get a lot more expensive. On Friday night’s episode fans saw the celebs getting a lot more savvy with their money, as it was revealed that after yesterday’s trial, the campmates would have to pay for daily essentials, including using the shower and dunny. The campmates went to great lengths to pocket the cash, with Jane Moore spitting her toothpaste in a garbage bag, and GK Barry opting to wash her armpits in the sink rather than showering.
