Amazon has dropped the price of an “exceptional” pair of wireless earbuds that have been compared to leading brands for a fraction of the price.
The Anker Soundcore P40i Noise Cancelling Wireless Earbuds have been reduced from £59.99 down to £37.99 in a limited time deal. Designed to deliver an “intensive audio experience” with powerful bass as well as “superior call quality” using six built-in microphones, the brand promises a premium performance for a budget-friendly price tag.
Available in black, blue, white or purple, the earbuds feature adaptive noise cancellation and boast a battery life of up to 12 hours on a single charge, with the accompanying charging case meaning you can use them for 60 hours on the go. And with more than 6,500 ratings on Amazon, they have earned plenty of rave reviews from shoppers with an average score of 4.3 out of five stars.
In fact, several reviewers said they measured up to some of the biggest – and more expensive – brands, including Apple and Samsung. By comparison, a pair of Apple AirPods would set you back considerably more, with the latest AirPods 4 priced at £129 or £179 with active noise cancellation, while the Galaxy Buds3 from Samsung start from £159.
One person wrote in a five-star review of the Soundcore earbuds: “Over the years, like a lot of music lovers, I’ve had many, many earphones. Expensive ones by the likes of Bose and Sony. Mid-range ones by the likes of Samsung and Google. And lots of cheap ones too.
“These Soundcore earphones are in my top three ever. They are absolutely brilliant. I cannot believe earphones that cost way less than £50 produce such nice sound AND have such a high quality noise cancellation. They are bassy. Crystal clear. Crisp. And accurate. Using the app to tone them exactly how you like makes them a joy to use.”
They went on: “Easy controls. Nice design. The case is fantastic. Battery life brilliant. Bluetooth connection is effortless. They are light. Super comfortable. And I’m loving them so much that I now can’t wait to take the dog out for walk so I can listen to music with them. 5 stars. 11/10. Superb.”
Another shopper agreed: “I was a bit worried that these earphones wouldn’t be that great considering I had Apple ones before. When I lost my Apple ones I thought I’ll try something not so pricey. Saw these and thought I would give them a try, knowing they wouldn’t be as good as my Apple ones. Boy was I wrong! The sound is so good! The bass is amazing too! They work with my iPhone and MacBook Pro. Connecting them was effortless too! Highly recommend them for anyone looking for a cheaper alternative to Apple earphones.”
A third reviewer said: “I am a diehard Apple fan, however the sound these buds promise is mind-blowing! Would definitely recommend to anyone wanting the same sound if not better than that of the AirPods 4, but at a fraction of the price.”
And someone else wrote: “The sound quality, including the bass, is on par with my Apple AirPods Pro 2 (£229), and the ANC (automatic noise cancelling) is equally impressive. They’re lightweight, fit comfortably, and were easy to connect to my iPhone 15 Pro. The music/sound is just as good, and the bass really stands out. I’ve had no complaints about the call quality during phone calls, and the battery life has been solid so far. Honestly, for the price, I can’t see a reason to spend more on Apple.”
Overall, 84% of shoppers gave the Soundcore earbuds either a four or five-star rating, although not everyone was impressed by them. One person fed back: “Returning these as I cannot get them to fit comfortably and stay in, it’s highly frustrating and a major functionality drawback.”
And another customer commented: “Nice for the price but can sound very muffled like especially when in public, I have cheaper earbuds that have better sound quality. If you have small ears might not be comfortable for longer periods.”
For those who prefer over-ear headphones, Amazon has also dropped the price of the Anker Soundcore H30i Wireless Headphones down to just £19.99. With Bluetooth connection and a battery life of up to 70 hours perfect for work days spent on calls, long journeys, or relaxing with your favourite playlist or podcast, the brand promises that the headphones will “bring every song to life”.
Available in black, white or red, the headphones have a lightweight “pressure-free” design for comfortable wear and are foldable to pack easily for the commute or holidays too. With more than 5,000 reviews from Amazon shoppers, they have earned an average rating of 4.5 out of five stars with many comparing them to more expensive brands – read more about them here.
