Ant McPartin issues 15-word statement over Jane Moore’s exit from I’m A Celeb after her own brutal swipe

Ant McPartlin, the host of I’m A Celebrity, has revealed that he’s “not surprised” that journalist Jane Moore was the first campmate to be voted off the new series this week.

The Loose Women panellist, 62, described her time in the jungle as “such a weird and magical experience”. She also seemed to take a subtle dig at her co-stars, saying: “Hard work doesn’t get rewarded.”

Ant, 49, agreed with her assessment of the show during his appearance on I’m A Celebrity… Unpacked, suggesting that fans are more interested in “entertaining chats” and bushtucker trials than chore footage, reports the Mirror. He commented: “I’m not surprised because I think she kind of hit the nail on the head.”

Ant then continued his statement: “We’ve had that many times where people go ‘but I’ve done everything down there’ and you go ‘yeah, but we didn’t get a chance to see it because what the viewers want to see is entertaining chats and the trials, not necessarily somebody scrubbing pots every day.”

He previously pointed out that some celebs, like Dean McCullough, 32, seem to hog the spotlight due to constant trial participation. Ant made a direct appeal to viewers last week, saying: “Right. Let’s all have a serious talk. I’m going to look directly into the camera here. I think it’s good to see other faces down there.”

Ant said some celebs aren’t getting screen time on I’m A Celeb

He further clarified: “This is not a personal thing. It’s not about Dean, it’s about us just seeing different people down there. And I think we want to see different people on the show being featured. Some people unfortunately aren’t getting [screen time].”

Jane – who was the first celeb to leave the jungle – said she was relieved to be on dry land and sipping Prosecco, admitting that “water isn’t for her”. The TV star also told Ant and Dec that she’d “do it all again in a heartbeat”.

Jane explained: “It’s such a weird and magical experience. People always say it’s the best experience of your life -I wouldn’t quite put it that way with the rain. I’ve never been so soaked in all my life constantly. But all those guys are absolutely wonderful people, I’ve loved getting to know them all.”

Ant questioned her on whether she’s disappointed to be the first to leave, to which she laughed and replied: “No more washing up! I can’t wait to get rid of that, I’m never washing up again.!

Citing “getting to know the others” her favourite part of taking part, she has a couple of winners in mind. “The quiet, hard workers. Melvin and Coleen – they’re not flamboyant but solid.”
