Arsenal vs Newcastle United LIVE: Early teams and updates from the Emirates

Newcastle United’s 2025 trophy dreams are very much alive as they head into the new year with big interest in both domestic cup competitions. League Two Bromley await in the FA Cup this weekend, but tonight it’s all about the Carabao Cup and the two-legged semi-final with Arsenal.

Eddie Howe’s men will walk out at the Emirates tonight full of confidence after seven wins on the spin, included three big victories away from St James’ Park. They will need to be at their best against Mikel Arteta’s Gunners, of course, but with a second leg to come at St James’ Park next month, hopes are high that they can secure another Wembley visit.

Newcastle will have to make at least one change to the side which beat Tottenham 2-1 on Saturday, with Bruno Guimaraes serving a one-match ban after picking up two yellow cards in this season’s League Cup run, while Howe will make a late fitness call on Sven Botman.

We’ve got all the latest from North London right here, with team news, match build-up, in-game analysis and all the post-match reaction and ratings.
