A national bar and cafe chain says it will create around 30 jobs when it opens in a Newcastle suburb next month.
Loungers plc is set to open Tremolo Lounge on Gosforth High Street on March 19. The venue – which will be open all day, serving breakfast, brunch, lunch, dinner, and drinks – is being created in a former Co-op supermarket, which has been empty for a number of years.
The company is hoping to attract families with a kids’ menu plus a selection of games, high chairs and baby-changing facilities. It also wants to provide space for local groups holding events or meetings.
The venue will be West Country-based Loungers 250th site around the country. It already has sites in Morpeth, the Martino Lounge, plus the Coltello Lounge in Cramlington and Muro Lounge in Hexham.

John English, head of community at The Lounges, says: “We’re so looking forward to opening the doors of Tremolo Lounge. We hope our family friendly environment and top-notch food and drink offering will prove popular with local residents.
“We’re passionate about integrating genuinely into the communities we serve so we’re looking forward to meeting everyone and to playing our part at the heart of Gosforth’s food and drink scene. Anyone looking for a space to host events or groups should pop in once we are open, we’d love to hear from them and see what we can do to help.”
