BBC Outnumbered’s Tyger Drew-Honey’s porn star mum and dad who bedded 1,792 women

Tyger Drew-Honey was just 11 years old when he was catapulted to fame, landing the role of eldest sibling Jake Brockman in the hit TV show Outnumbered – which will be back on TV screens with a one-off Christmas special this year, scheduled to air on 26 December on BBC One.

Tyger was discovered by an agent while performing a comedic role in Treasure Island at the prestigious Danes Hill School in Oxshott, a moment that would forever alter his life’s trajectory. However, even before this, Tyger’s upbringing was far from ordinary. The star, 28, is the offspring of one of the UK’s most renowned porn stars, Ben Dover, and his ex-wife Linzi Drew, also a former porn actress.

Ben, whose real name is Simon Lindsay Honey, has appeared in over 130 adult films, directed more than 120, and was listed by Hustler magazine as one of the 50 most influential people in the porn industry. In 2009, he bragged about sleeping with 1,792 women, owning a collection of supercars, and living in a £2million Surrey mansion complete with its own swimming pool.

Linzi also had a significant presence in the adult entertainment industry, working as a stripper, Page 3 actress, and porn star, as well as serving as the editor of Penthouse magazine. She even posed nude for the cover of Pink Floyd member Roger Water’s solo album, The Pros and Cons of Hitchhiking, but retired at 41 to have Tyger.

Tyger was born Lindzi James Drew-Honey – a combination of his parents’ names. However, due to a vocal chord issue, he acquired the nickname ‘Tiger’, reports the Mirror.

“My mum is Linzi and my Dad is Lindsay, and because my parents are so imaginative they combined the two and called me Lindzi,” he previously shared with Essential Surrey.

Tyger opened up about his unique childhood, revealing a little-known fact about his early health issues: “But when I was born, I had a problem with my vocal chords: they were too close together and didn’t vibrate as they should have done. So, for the first months of my life I was very growly and they nicknamed me Tiger.”

He grew up knowing all about his parents’ adult film careers, as they were ‘very open’ with him. Thanks to their success, he enjoyed a life of luxury, including fancy holidays and top-notch schooling.

He reflected on his upbringing, saying: “People think it must all have been seedy and druggy, but I had a very pleasant and very warm upbringing. Also, the money that my parents made from porn enabled them to send me to really good schools and have a really good life.”

His father Lindsay even boasted about Tyger’s achievements despite their line of work: “My job hasn’t held my son back. He’s head boy,” he proudly told The Sun in 2009. Lindsay also said: “I was also at a barbecue last week with his headmaster. We have some very rich and powerful neighbours and I get on well with them all. I think they like the fact I’m a porn star. It makes me different from the usual people they meet.”

However, not everyone was as accepting, and Tyger faced bullies at school who tried to use his family background against him. He admitted the bullying hurt, not because of the content, but the intent behind it: “I did get upset, not because of what they were saying but why they were saying it. Why were they trying to hurt me? It made me think they didn’t like me. That’s what I couldn’t understand; I wouldn’t want to deliberately upset someone.”

Lindsay and Linzi – who is the author of erotic novels ‘Every Shade of Blue’ and ‘Every Shade of Black’ – went their separate ways in 2010 but have stayed amicable for the sake of their son. When Lindsay was hit with a bladder cancer diagnosis at 60 in 2016, it rocked Tyger’s world.

Opening up to The Sun about the battle, the star said: “I’m going through chemotherapy. It has made me very weak and tired. It has really knocked me and Tyger back. I’ve already had two operations and need more chemo to nip it in the bud before it goes through the wall.”

Following a tough year of treatments at St Peter’s Hospital, the good news came that Lindsay was cancer-free. Reflecting on the difficult journey, he expressed heartfelt appreciation for his son’s unwavering support: “Tyger has been brilliant. Like me he was really upset when we first learned the news, but he’s been there for me all the way – especially during the dark days.”
