Bars and Melody first came into the limelight after impressing notoriously strict Britain’s Got Talent judge Simon Cowell on the show back in 2014. At the time, the baby-faced teens impressed judges, eventually coming third in the live final.
In the years since their TV debut, Bars and Melody are all grown up, and have released several albums, performed international tours and competed in other talent competitions. But now, both members look completely different from their BGT days but are still currently working together as a musical act before they go their separate ways after one final tour. Leondre – now in his twenties, who was known as Bars – has stretched in height and sports a new, more mature hairstyle with dreadlocks.
In numerous social media posts shared with his 601,000 Instagram followers, Leondre regularly shows off his muscular physique with gym selfies where he poses shirtless to highlight his toned body.
While, Charlie, also in his twenties, and known as ‘Melody’ is now a father after welcoming a child in 2022 and he boasts an array tattoos across his neck, arms and chest.
They both still tour together with their Bars and Melody: The Final (world) Tour currently scheduled across 2025.
During their audition over a decade ago, the head judge pressed the sacred golden buzzer after the adorable duo won over the audience with a rap performance protesting against bullying.
They came third in the final, with the series being won by act Collabro. Bars and Melody’s debut single, Hopeful, reached Number 5 in the charts. Their debut album, 143, was released in 2015 and they’ve continued to release music since then.
They were later finalists on Britain’s Got Talent: The Champions in 2019. The following year, Bars and Melody competed on America’s Got Talent: The Champions. The boys have sporadically toured Europe and Japan too.
The duo reflected on ther BGT audition in 2021, in a post which marked its seventh anniversary. They shared a clip on Instagram of the moment they got the Golden Buzzer. Alongside the video, they wrote in the caption: “7 years today. Words can’t explain the feelings towards this video. The moment that changed our life forever!”
The pair further commented: “Thank you for being by our side every step of the way. We have come to the end of the beginning. Our journey’s just started.”
Rapper Leondre and singer Charlie still perform together but they look worlds away from their BGT days.
The double act first met on Facebook before appearing on stage on Britain’s Got Talent, deciding to form a duo after sharing a passion and love for music. After performing their anti-bullying song, Hopeful, in their first audition, they received a standing ovation from all four judges.
