Big Sean’s ‘Dark Sky Paradise’ Marks 10th Anniversary With Complex Shop Vinyl Variant

Big Sean’s Dark Sky Paradise, featuring the Hot 100 hit “I Don’t Fuck With You,” turned 10 years young last month. In commemoration of the milestone, Complex Shop is the place to find a new vinyl variant of the album, which notably came in at No. 6 on Complex’s ranking of the best albums of 2015.

In February, Sean reflected on the personal importance of the album in the context of his larger discography, deeming it the one that “changed it all” for the six-time Grammy nominee and Go Higher author.

As Sean told fans when sharing an IG carousel featuring the album cover by Joe Perez and Virgil Abloh, he was reflecting on the album’s 10th anniversary while working in New York City, which his exactly where he was when Dark Sky Paradise was first released.

“Honestly, life has never been lining up and feeling so meant to be,” Sean said. “Through the ups, downs, all of it is amazing. I can’t even lie. This mufukin’ album had such an impact on me and my family. I wanna celebrate all year!”

In 2020, Dark Sky Paradise was certified two-times platinum by the RIAA. Meanwhile, “I Don’t Fuck With You” with E-40, a flagship song in Sean’s discography and one you’re very likely to still hear in rotation, hit nine-times platinum in August of last year. “Paradise,” “Blessings,” “One Man Can Change the World,” and “Play No Games” were also released as singles from the album.

Sean’s most recent album, Better Me Than You, arrived last August. The recent Jennifer Hudson Show guest followed that up with the aforementioned Go Higher, an “interactive guidebook” focused on mental wellness featuring a foreword penned by Jay Shetty.
