Boots has dropped prices on heated throws to warm up with while the UK is in the throes of wintry weather, with up to £50 to save on a bestselling brand.
The high street retailer is offering Dreamland electric blankets for less just in time for snuggling up during the January cold snap, with the cheapest option being the Dreamland Intelliheat Warming Throw which is now £49.99 down from £69.99. Designed with five layers of ‘ultra-thin’ heating sensor wires that detect temperature 25 times every second to deliver the ideal amount of warmth, the blanket takes just five minutes to heat up.
With a luxury plush texture perfect for cosying up with, the throw is equipped with a timer and six different temperature settings – and it helps to save on your heating bills too, costing as little as 1p an hour to run. With more than 350 reviews on the Boots website, this most budget-friendly choice has earned an impressive average rating of 4.7 out of five stars.
One shopper praised: “This is the best thing I’ve bought! Keeps me nice and toasty so don’t need my heating on! Good for achy legs too. Lightweight and soft. Instant heat!”
Another agreed: “Highly recommended! Warm and cosy. Perfect on the sofa for cold winter evenings or for those working from home this a much cheaper alternative than putting that heating on! Wish we had bought it sooner!”
A third reviewer raved: “Really happy with this heated throw. It’s good quality, easy to use and warms up really quickly. It can be used in lots of ways – keeping knees warm while working at my desk during the day, great on the sofa in the evening and works well to warm the bed up before jumping in too! “
And someone else wrote: “This has been a complete lifesaver during the freezing cold winter months. I can’t be without it now.”
While nearly 9 in 10 shoppers (89%) said they would recommend the heated throw, not everyone was quite as impressed. One reviewer complained: “A bit disappointed with the thickness and not so comfortable feel as the wires are so prominent.”
Someone else fed back: “It’s nice and warm for winter but the fabric pulls very easily. I’ve only had this blanket for a month and already looks a bit tatty. For the price I would have expected better quality.”
Prices have dropped on Dreamland throws at other retailers on the high street and online, with John Lewis also offering this electric blanket for the same reduced offer of £49.99 in grey or teal, while Currys is offering it for the same price in black and Amazon has it in other colours including pink or yellow for £49.99 too. For a more budget-friendly option, one of the most popular choices among Amazon shoppers is the Proaller Heated Blanket, which currently has 15% off with a price tag of £33.99.
Or to dial up the luxury to the next level, Boots is also offering £50 off the Dreamland Intelliheat Faux Fur Warming Throw, now £79.99 down from £129.99, which has also earned an average rating of 4.7 out of five stars from shoppers. Made with Alaskan Husky-style faux fur, this ‘silky soft’ blanket doubles up as a stylish home accessory when not in use.
