It’s officially Bridgerton season and fans of the drama will be thrilled to hear that Shonda Rhimes’ creation will be back on Netflix very soon. The show continues to focus on the lives of the Bridgerton siblings, and those living in ‘the ton’, as they navigate high society and search for love.
The first season saw Daphne Bridgerton (Phoebe Dynevor) fall for Simon Basset, the Duke of Hastings (Regé-Jean Page), while the second looked at the brief love story between Daphne’s brother, Anthony Bridgerton (Jonathan Bailey) and Edwina Sharma (Charithra Chandran) – that is until he fell for her half-sister, Kate Sharma (Simone Ashley).
It was up for debate who the next Bridgerton would be to star in the third season – but it has been confirmed to be Colin Bridgerton (Luke Newton).
When is Bridgerton season 3 out?
Unlike previous seasons, this one will be split into two parts. The first four episodes will premiere on May 16. But sadly there will be a wait for the next four which will be able to stream on Netflix a month later on June 13.

“So too is this author.”
What will happen in Bridgerton season 3?
As Bridgerton returns for its third season, we find Penelope Featherington has finally given up on her long-held crush on Colin Bridgerton after hearing his disparaging words about her last season.
However, determined to move out and away from her sisters and her mother, Penelope decides it’s time to take a husband. She hopes to find a man who will allow her the space to continue her secret work as Lady Whistledown of course.
Meanwhile, Colin returns from his summer travels with a new look but he’s disheartened to realise that Penelope, the one person who always appreciated him as he was, is giving him the cold shoulder.
After witnessing Penelope try to impress the young men in the ton, Colin realises the way to win back her friendship is to mentor Penelope in the ways of confidence to help her find a husband this season.
But when Penelope catches the eye of a possible suitor, Colin must grapple with whether his feelings for Penelope are truly just friendly before it’s too late.
Also in the season, Penelope’s rift with Eloise continues as she finds a new friend in Cressida Cowper. And Penelope’s growing presence in society means her identity as Lady Whistledown threatens to be uncovered. Plus, Kate and Antony embark on married life together.
