Britain’s Got Talent viewers were left in stitches on Sunday night as past act Bobby Goldfinn made yet another unexpected return to the stage.
The quirky performer, known for his goldfish head costume, had already caused a stir earlier in the series with his repeated auditions.
Bobby first auditioned in the very first episode of the 2024 series and has since become notorious for his multiple appearances, each time claiming he’d forgotten he’d already performed and been buzzed off.
But it seems Bobby wasn’t quite ready to leave the competition just yet, as he made another surprise appearance during the final auditions of the series.
During the episode on Sunday 26 May, presenters Ant McPartlin and Dec Donnelly were left gobsmacked as they prepared to introduce the next act, only for Bobby to stroll past them onto the stage. Recognising the familiar figure, the duo couldn’t believe he was back for more.
The judges – Amanda Holden, Bruno Tonioli, Alesha Dixon and Simon Cowell – looked equally perplexed and somewhat annoyed as Bobby took to the stage once again. After giving him a few seconds to prove himself, they quickly hit their buzzers, sending Bobby packing once more.
Despite his pleas for another chance, Simon was quick to quip that this probably wouldn’t be the last time they saw Bobby, given his BGT history. However, much to the relief of the judges and audience, this marked Bobby’s final appearance on the show – unless, of course, he somehow makes it through to the live shows.
Viewers at home didn’t hold back on their reactions to his return, with mixed feelings swirling around. Some expressed irritation while others were all for it, cheering him on for a wildcard spot if one’s up for grabs.
It seems Bobby Goldfinn’s true identity might have been uncovered as recent buzz suggests he’s actually a Massachusetts-based amateur comedian named Bobby Finn, boasting 335K followers on Instagram and a whopping 649.1K on TikTok.
Regarding Bobby’s comeback, one viewer exclaimed: “Why is the fish back? I hate this thing! So annoying!”.
Another commented: “Great to see Bobby Goldfinn back on tonight. Very funny guy.” Another added: “Here we go, it’s that goldfish again!”
And another declared: “He’s back. Our Lord and saviour Bobby Goldfinn.”
