Bruce Springsteen in Sunderland LIVE – Stadium of Light build up and updates as The Boss returns

After fans have been counting down for months and months, the day is here – Bruce Springsteen is playing Sunderland’s Stadium of Light and we’ll be bringing you all the build up and updates from the gig itself.

It’s been 12 years since The Boss and The E Street Band were on Wearside, with their last visit being with the Wrecking Ball tour in 2012. And now the wait is over, as The Boss is back in Sunderland, having already delighted huge audiences in the likes of Cardiff, Cork and Dublin over the last few weeks.

Fans look set to have three hours of Bruce classics, with the music legend due on stage around 7pm and set to stay there until after 10, Crucially there will be NO support act for the Stadium of Light, so fans with tickets will want to make sure there are in there nice and early, with gates due to open at 4pm.

Sadly unlike for Bruce’s Dublin gig on Sunday, when the man himself and his legions of fans were bathed in warm sunshine, the weather isn’t looking too promising for Sunderland, after the Met Office issued a weather warning for heavy rain for the North East. The one glimmer of hope fans can cling to at present is that the downpours are predicted to subside as we head into the night.

So, in the meantime, have your waterproofs on stand by and stick with us for all the build up to Bruce in Sunderland.
