DJ Khaled dropped a 7-minute movie-inspired teaser trailer starring Mark Wahlberg and Anthony Ramos for his upcoming 14th studio album, Aalam of God. Check it out below.
On Tuesday, Khaled unleashed the teaser trailer, which draws inspiration from action movies. In it, the Grammy Award winner is tasked with protecting a briefcase holding the new album. Wahlberg plays a villain who wants to get his hands on the album by employing Khaled’s friend, played by Ramos, to get it by any means necessary.
The trailer, directed by Eif Rivera, shows Khaled being chased by gun-toting men, jumping off a building, and running into a car where Ramos is waiting. Wahlberg, on the other hand, has a conversation with his men about Khaled having “two Drake songs” and the possibility of having “another fucking 100-bar verse” from Jay-Z.
After several intense action scenes and a tearful exchange between Khaled and Ramos, the We The Best founder ends the trailer with a phone call saying, “Send Rihanna the record.”
On social media, Khaled compared the upcoming project to one of Jay-Z’s classics and reiterated Drake and Rihanna showing up on the record, writing, “This not my last album this my black album *JAY VOICE* […] DRAKES BACK TO WORK… SO AM I! THIS THE ONE WITH✌🏽DRAKES […] @ayojuan matter of fact..send that record over to @badgalriri .. u know…I JUST WANNA BREATHE – THE AIR THAT RIHANNA BREATHES – yo RIH everyTING locked.”
Khaled’s announcement of Aalam of God comes three years after he dropped God Did, which contained Jay’s excellent verse on the song of the same name and two Drake features on the album opener, “No Secret,” and the Lil Baby-assisted “Staying Alive.”
