Drake Posts Serena Williams’ Former Agent on His Finsta After Her Super Bowl Cameo

Drake has seemingly responded to Serena Williams‘ cameo in the Super Bowl LIX Apple Music Halftime Show.

After Serena Williams stole the show during Kendrick Lamar‘s Super Bowl LIX Halftime Show, on Tuesday (Feb. 11), an old photo was posted to Drake’s @plottttwistttttt finsta, showing him holding Williams’ former agent, Jill Smoller, closely. The sports professional worked with Williams, who retired from tennis in 2022, for over two decades, and she was clearly once on friendly terms with the nine-time Grammy winner.

The post followed a viral video, which circulated after the Super Bowl, that purported to show Drake seemingly shading his tennis player ex for linking up with his rival. The clip, which shows Drake preaching about exes during a concert in Australia, took place before, not after, Kendrick’s performance.

“This was not after the Super Bowl and is baiting people to make it seem like Drake is taking shots at Serena,” a community note on X read, giving the clip more context. “This is from the night 1 show of Melbourne.”

The concert took place on Feb. 9, 16 hours ahead of New Orleans time, meaning it was 4 a.m. in America when Drake hit the stage in Melbourne around 8 p.m.

Speaking of Drake’s exes, SZA also joined Kendrick to perform “Luther” and “All the Stars” during his Super Bowl performance.

According to TMZ, hours before the anticipated Super Bowl halftime show at Caesars Superdome on Sunday (Feb. 9), Drake performed during his Anita Max Win Tour and dedicated “You Broke My Heart” to those hurt by their past loves.

“If you ever, in your life, gave your time, gave your energy, gave your money, gave your heart, gave your soul, gave everything that you’ve ever had to somebody and they fucking played with you and wasted your time … I want you to turn up to this song,” Drizzy said in the video above. “This is for all your exes that ever thought that they could play you in their fucking life.”

“If you’re doing better than your ex, I wanna see you turn the fuck up,” he concluded, before signaling that his For All the Dogs track be played.

Contrary to some social media posts claiming Drake was shading his ex, it would’ve been hours before the retired tennis player made a surprise appearance C-Walking along to “Not Like Us” at the Super Bowl.

Unveiled last August as part of his 100 Gigs website was a video of Drake previewing his 2016 song “Too Good” for his mother, Sandi Graham. The rapper revealed that the track was about Williams, who he reportedly dated around 2011 to 2015, embroiling him in a brief feud with Common.

Serena and her husband, Alex Ohanian, would also send subtle disses to Drake last year after the latter was alluded to on Her Loss track “Middle of the Ocean.”

Also a special guest during the 13-minute Super Bowl performance was SZA, who had a brief fling with Drake in the late aughts.
