Parents have been rushing to snap up a Dunelm Special Buy that has earned praise as a “sturdy and stylish” addition to the nursery at a “great price”.
The Kids Harley Bookcase has impressed adults and little ones alike with its “lovely” design. Priced at £40, the three-tier storage solution has surprised shoppers with the amount of books, toys and treasures it can hold, while still standing at the perfect height for toddlers to browse for their next read.
With five colours to choose from – natural, white, grey, pink or sage – the bookcase will blend in perfectly with any nursery or children’s bedroom décor. And with an impressive overall rating of 4.7 out of five stars based on more than 1,000 reviews, it comes highly recommended by Dunelm shoppers with young children at home too.

One shopper said: “Lovely bookcase. Easy to assemble and it looks great. Impressed with the quality for the price. My little one loves being able to see and choose her books. It is a great shape/size so doesn’t take up loads of space, but still holds lots of books.”
Another praised: “This child’s bookcase is ideal for small spaces but is very deceiving and does hold a lot of books, sturdy and stylish, I would recommend it.”
A third reviewer agreed: “Fantastic bookcase – very compact, doesn’t take much space and really sturdy, I’m surprised how many books it can hold. Perfect height my kids to take books out and put them back in easily. Definitely recommend.”
And someone else wrote: “It is the perfect size and holds a great amount of books. We’ve fit approximately 50 books in of all shapes and sizes. Now my daughter can browse her books at her leisure and easily choose which book she wants for bedtime. It was easy to build and is very sturdy. Great price for a great item.”
While just under 95% of Dunelm shoppers awarded the bookcase either four or the full five stars, not everyone was as impressed. A few shoppers said theirs arrived with “chips” or scratches”, while a handful of others said it had a “strong unpleasant smell” – although it’s worth noting that the majority of reviews of this nature are at least three years old, so may well be issues that Dunelm has since resolved.
Dunelm’s bookcase is also cheaper than similar options elsewhere on the high street, such as the Habitat Kids Short Bookcase at Argos which has a price tag of £60, or the Great Little Trading Co Sling Bookcase at John Lewis which would set you back £80.
