Popular chicken restaurant Wingstop is finally coming to Newcastle, and ChronicleLive was granted exclusively early access for a look at Eldon Square’s hottest new food outlet.
The restaurant, which opens at 11am on Monday, February 10, offers everything from burgers, to chicken wings and bites, and even desserts in the form of churros topped with either Oreo pieces or a Biscoff crumb.
The store is located on the ground floor of Eldon Square and is a bright, welcoming location with a variety of seating options including booths and single tables.
There are a number of vibrant and informative signs around the store, including a few Newcastle specific elements; with sauce and seasoning options posted all around. The till area is spacious and again has a number of well-lit signs with the full menu on.
Two drinks dispensers, offering everything from Coca-Cola to Fanta and even a mix of the two drinks, are located near where the food leaves the kitchen.
Celia Brown, Marketing Manager at Wingstop, said she is excited for Wingstop to finally come to Newcastle: “Super excited to finally be in the city centre. We know from our socials demand in Newcastle for Wingstop is really great, so it is really exciting to finally be here and bring flavor to the city centre.”
Celia also hinted at future Wingstop locations in the North East, explaining “There are definite plans to expand further in the North East. The appetite for Wingstop is growing everywhere, so hopefully this is the second-step in taking over and bringing flavour all across the UK, but there are other sites nearby coming really soon and we are really excited by it.”
And Celia also said there is a giveaway for the first 100 customers that come through the doors. She said: “Doors open at 11am on Monday and we always give the first 100 people through the door free eight wings or boneless, whatever they would rather, in whatever flavour they want.
Ambry, the general manager of Wingstop Eldon Square said he is excited to open the doors to customers on Monday. He said: “So many customers are walking past and trying to come in, and we cannot wait to open our doors to them on Monday. We just cannot wait to start serving customers.
“People from the North East are foodies and they always want to try new flavours. When it comes to Wingstop there is a customer-base and they always want to come here, so now we are opening this one, we are excited to see more people coming in.”
