In a dramatic finale, it was unveiled that James Corden‘s character Smithy hadn’t moved past Nessa’s 2019 Christmas special proposal, even though he was now set to wed his love interest Sonia, portrayed by Laura Aikman. The final episode kicked off with Smithy gearing up for his stag do ahead of his nuptials with Sonia, uniting all the beloved characters for a rip-roaring celebration – yet Nessa also wrestled with her feelings as the wedding drew nearer.
