Good Morning Britain’s Rob Rinder hits back at homophobic Twitter troll live on-air

Rob Rinder, known to many as Judge Rinder, faced off against online trolls while co-hosting Good Morning Britain with Kate Garraway. Despite his rise to fame on the ITV reality courtroom series and his successful transition into broadcasting, Rob was subjected to homophobic remarks from a viewer during the live show.

The troll, identified as Mr Q, nastily suggested: “A top tip for GMB. Get Rob Rinder and Richard Arnold to skip hand in hand into q***r obscurity #GMB.”

But Rob clapped back with his trademark wit, replying, “Stop flirting Mr Q,” without missing a beat on air. Fans of the show rallied around Rob, with one expressing their support: “I love Rob Rinder he should be on regularly #gmb.”

Earlier in the week, Rob had an emotional moment on This Morning when he discussed Holocaust Memorial Day alongside his mother Angela Cohen. He fought back tears as he talked about her work founding a charity for Holocaust survivors.

The ’45 Aid Society aims to preserve the legacy of over 700 children who were brought to the UK post-World War II, including Angela’s father Morris Malenicky, one of the ‘Windemere Children’ resettled near Lake Windemere, reports the Mirror.

Rob Rinder, speaking on This Morning, expressed his gratitude and pride for his mother and other survivors who share their stories. He said: “It’s been vital and a gift and a privilege and I’m so proud of mum and the survivors and those who go into the world to tell this story,” adding that “This could just be a story of horror and of trauma and ultimately of despair, but today it is also one of hope so it has empowered me through my mum and the survivors.”

Last year, Rob teamed up with Rylan Clark for a travel show on BBC Two, which saw them exploring Italy.

The two have since become close pals, with Rob even wishing Rylan a happy 36th birthday in October. In a heartfelt Instagram post, Rob shared throwback snaps from their Italian adventure, captioning it: “Happy birthday @rylan beautiful on the inside and the outside…Friendship is born at the moment when one man says to another What! You too? I thought that no one but myself.'”
