Gordon Ramsay’s production company has made a statement regarding accusations of “inappropriate behaviour” levelled at TV chef Gino D’Acampo. Known as a former regular on This Morning, D’Acampo is facing allegations of “sexually inappropriate behaviour” that span a period of over 12 years.
ITV News reported on Thursday numerous individuals have claimed that D’Acampo made crude comments, prompted discomfort, and spoke sexually suggestive words when working with them, allegations which the chef vehemently denies.
Before this news broke, the 48 year old chef was celebrated for his culinary travel series alongside Gordon Ramsay and Fred Sirieix. However, Studio Ramsay – which produced Gino’s Italian Family Adventure and Gordon, Gino and Fred’s Road Trip – has now stated: “Studio Ramsay have not worked on a series with Gino D’Acampo since 2022.”
The company emphasised its strict policy: “We take all allegations of inappropriate behaviour and workplace misconduct seriously, promptly investigate, and take appropriate remedial action when warranted.”
The ITV show Gordon, Gino and Fred: Road Trip came to an end in March 2023 after Gino declared he wouldn’t be returning for future episodes, fuelling speculation of a rift among the renowned trio. The Italian-born chef addressed these rumours during an appearance on Heart Radio, reports the Express.
He shared: “I love the boys, Gordon is a cool guy, Fred we’ve known each other for a long time. What happened was we tried to put the dates down to do the show and then all of a sudden they get cancelled.
“We were supposed to film next month in May, and end of January they told us we’re no longer filming in May it’s probably going to be October and November.”
Gino explained: “This is the second time it’s happened in a year. So I said, ‘we can’t do that because everybody has a block of dates, we need to work, we need to support our family.’ They said ‘this is what it is, we need to be able to move things around.'”
The chef expressed frustration: “The contract was also getting bigger and more stressful, so I thought let me get out of this before the friendship is going to suffer, I’d rather have the friendship and not have the show.”
Regarding the allegations of sexually inappropriate behaviour, Gino stated firmly: “I have never been made aware of these matters previously, and the allegations are firmly denied.”
He insisted: “I would not do anything that I thought would upset or distress anyone. This is simply not in my nature. I do not recognise the version of events being put to me.”
Further adding: “I am a father, husband and have worked with well over 1,500 people on around 80 productions in my career, which I have been so proud of. I take such matters extremely seriously and the suggestion that I have acted in an improper way against is deeply upsetting.”
On Friday, Fred Sirieix posted on social media for the first time since the allegations against D’Acampo came to light – sharing an advert for a kitchen company on his Instagram page.
