Strong winds are still expected across the North East on Monday in the wake of Storm Darragh.
The region has been battered by winds of up to 70mph this weekend, with the awful weather wreaking havoc on the roads, transport system and infrastructure. Northern Powergrid said the storm affected power supplies to around 89,000 customers and that teams were working in challenging conditions to get the power back on.
But the worst of the weather should hopefully be behind us on Monday, with no weather warning being issued by the Met Office. By the looks of it, we should see relatively clear skies, despite strong winds.
