Reality star Maura Higgins has finally addressed her romance rumours on tonight’s episode of I’m A Celebrity…Get Me Out of Here! (Sunday 1 December) amid rumours she’s dating TOWIE’s Pete Wicks. During a chat with her fellow campmates, Maura confessed she has been ‘seeing someone’.
As the campmates started discussing their various relationship status’, Oti Mabuse then asked Maura if she was single, to which she replied: “I am but I was seeing someone before I came in but I’m not in a relationship.” When Dean McCullough then asked whether the man in question was someone they ‘would know’ Maura coyly responded: “Yeah.”

As the conversation continued, Reverend Richard Coles cheerily added ‘go Maura!’. Dean then asked: “So recently since you’ve been in here then have you gone ‘oh my god I miss him’?” to which Maura admitted she did.
Maura then confessed she’s never been in love before. But when Dean asked about her current situation and whether it felt ‘different’ to her previous relationships, Maura answered: “It does, but then is it because we’ve known each other for a long time?” Richard added: “You’d know if he was an a**hole or not, by now.” As Maura smiled to herself, and replied: “Yeah, he’s not an a**hole.”
Prior to Maura entering the jungle, it was rumoured that she was dating Strictly Come Dancing star Pete Wicks. The pair were first thought to be dating back in August after being spotted kissing at the Broadwick Soho Hotel.
At the time, an onlooker claimed that 36 year old Pete joined Maura at the London hotel on Saturday, 3 August where Maura had been sitting with friends “for an hour” before he arrived.
“After they’d sat there for a while Maura went in for a long kiss with Pete. It wasn’t the kind of kiss you’d give a friend, it was very passionate,” the onlooker said. “Maura and Pete seemed to be really into each other and kept looking into each other’s eyes before kissing again a number of times.” The pair have since been spotted together multiple times in London but have denied claims that they are dating.

Maura previously spilled the tea on her blossoming romance with Pete during a chat on the We Need To Talk podcast with Paul Brunson. She gushed about their genuine connection since becoming pals post-Love Island 2019, and how they’ve recently taken things up a notch.
She shared that they ‘got on very, very well’ adding she ‘adored’ him and that they ‘instantly clicked’ when they met shortly after Maura left the reality show.
