Irv Gotti’s ex-wife, Debbie Lorenzo, is mourning the record executive’s death.
Lorenzo took to Instagram on Thursday, writing, “Irv, you will be greatly missed. I can’t believe I’m saying that!” alongside a handful of throwback photos of them and their kids.
She continued, “Married, divorced, great friends, and so many life lessons—everything we’ve been through good and bad has molded me into the woman I am today! God never wastes anything; He uses everything for His ultimate glory!”
She also reflected on how he, “ignited the music industry with your presence, vision, and talent. You shattered records and did it all on your own terms. You had a truly big heart.”
She ended her tribute, writing, “You fought long and hard, and now you’re resting. Know that we raised three beautiful, compassionate young adults, and I’m honored that God chose us to be their parents. It brought me joy to see them take such great care of you. Rest well; I love you my friend.”
The former couple share three children, a daughter named Angie, and sons Sonny and JJ. Debbie and Irv were married for a decade before divorcing in 2013.
News of the Murder Inc. Records co-founder’s death surfaced on Thursday. He was 54 years old; his cause of death has not yet been made public.
Gotti had been struggling with his health, though he did downplay it, previously telling The Shade Room last September that he was “getting older, that’s all.” Last spring, he suffered from a minor stroke due to his diabetes, which he struggled with for years.
