Jack Fincham admits to hitting rock bottom as he says ‘I have nothing left to lose’

Jack Fincham bravely opened up on This Morning about his recent struggles and the path to recovery after being sentenced to six weeks in jail on January 29 for admitting to being in charge of a dangerously out-of-control dog.

The Love Island favourite has embarked on a journey towards sobriety, having given up drugs, alcohol, and gambling since the end of 2024. He joined the ITV daytime show to candidly “hold up his hands” and share his hopes of moving forward with his life.

During the heartfelt chat, he admitted to hosts Cat Deeley and Ben Shephard: “I am at my lowest now,” when asked why he believed this attempt at overcoming his addictions would be successful. He added: “I have nothing more to lose now.”

Jack detailed how his excessive drinking and drug use had left him with no other choice but to seek help, as he had alienated family and friends.

With a strong resolve to set things right, Jack’s appearance on the show was a step towards correcting past mistakes, reports Wales Online.

He also revealed to Ben and Cat the extent of his gambling during the peak of his addiction, confessing that he once spent “£40,000 on one hand of blackjack,” and estimated his total losses over the years at around “£1 million”.

After hearing Jack’s story, Ben pressed for deeper insight, asking: “Why now though Jack? You’ve been sober since Christmas Day, so we’re just coming into February now, so sort of a month and a half or getting on for two months, so fair play. But why do you think now that it’s going to stick?”

Jack explained: “The reason it’s going to stick now because as I mentioned there’s nothing more to salvage.” The reality star opened up about the tough love he’d received from his family and TOWIE girlfriend Chloe Brockett, revealing they had given him an ultimatum and warned him he was on his “very last chance” with a firm “there is no going back now.”

“So you think you’re at your lowest you’ve ever been?” probed the Tipping Point host. Without hesitation, Jack confirmed: “Yeah, the lowest I’ve ever been in every way.”

The Love Island winner went on to share how this attempt at sobriety felt different, reflecting: “You know I’m 32, and I’d always have this little argument with myself… and again this is an addiction thing, you’ve got two people on your shoulder, one tells you the reason you should do it and the other tells you the reasons that you shouldn’t do it.”

He further admitted: “And one of those arguments was always but you’re only in your mid twenties but even that arguments gone now.”

In a heartfelt moment during the interview, Jack also confessed his deep feelings for Chloe, saying he “really did love Chloe” and expressed their shared dreams of “getting married” and owning a “farm”, expressing his hope that staying sober would help make those dreams a reality.

This Morning airs weekdays on ITV1, from 10am.
