With the number of sleeps until Santa comes to town now in single figures, time is running out to get your Christmas gifts ordered for delivery in time for the big day.
Most retailers are giving shoppers just a few more days to place their online orders, so there’s still time for you to find any last presents for loved ones without having to battle the incredibly busy high streets. While the majority are offering the chance to buy gifts for home delivery until the weekend before Christmas, if you don’t want to fork out for a premium delivery charge the cut-off for standard delivery is earlier.
Here are all the details you need for five of the most popular retailers – Amazon, Boots, Dunelm, Marks & Spencer and Sephora. You can find a list of final order dates for several more stores at the bottom of this article, as reported by The Mirror.
Amazon
A popular destination for panic-buyers, Amazon offers one of the closest last order dates to Christmas with shoppers able to buy gifts as late as Monday, December 23 for next day delivery. However, only Amazon Prime members can take advantage of this benefit – if you haven’t signed up for the service before, you can get a free 30-day trial right now in time for your final festive shopping spree for free fast delivery.
Amazon has launched a Last Minute Deals section open until December 22, offering shoppers discounts on everything from beauty and clothing to tech gadgets. The online retail giant is also great for getting any emergency gift wrapping essentials if you don’t have time to get to the shops.
Boots
Those still on the hunt for beauty gifts will be relieved to know that they have until next Monday, December 23, for next day delivery orders from Boots. It’s worth bearing in mind though that you will have to pay extra for this speedy service – for standard home delivery in time for Christmas Eve, you will need to place your orders by midday on Saturday, December 21.
Boots recently named its top Christmas beauty gifts of 2024, many of which have been reduced down to less than half price in the retailer’s Star Gifts range. Shoppers can also make serious savings on designer fragrances right now, while selected premium gift sets currently have 20% off too.
Dunelm
Whether you’re shopping for last-minute festive homeware additions for hosting over Christmas or browsing Dunelm’s range of gifts from candles and artwork to cosy winter warmers, the cut-off to get your orders in is 9pm on Thursday, December 19.
If you think your home needs an extra dose of festive cheer before the big day arrives, Dunelm is offering a stylish range of Christmas bedding that shoppers are loving right now. One of the most eye-catching options is the new Showtime Polycotton Duvet Cover and Pillowcase Set by Furn, while a more budget-friendly and subtle choice is the Stag Cosy Easycare Duvet Cover and Pillowcase Set.
Marks & Spencer
Marks & Spencer shoppers ordering clothing, beauty or homeware products from the retailer must order by Friday, December 20 for free standard delivery in time for Christmas, although if you opt for the pricier nominated day or next day delivery you have until Monday, December 23. The last order date for hampers is Sunday, December 22, while letterbox brownies, plants and flowers being sent for Christmas must be ordered by Monday, December 23.

Sephora
Fellow high street beauty giant Sephora is giving shoppers until 6pm on Sunday, December 22 to place orders for delivery the next day. Be aware again that this will cost extra, so if you want to avoid paying the premium price for the fastest delivery option you have until 11pm on Friday, December 20 to qualify for standard delivery in time for Christmas.
Sephora’s Christmas shop currently includes three for two on stocking fillers and up to 25% off fragrances, with a handy gift finder guide too so you can search for the perfect beauty gift depending on who you’re buying for and how much you’re willing to spend.
