Lefty Gunplay Misses Rolling Loud California After Being Arrested on Festival Grounds

Lefty Gunplay, originally slated to perform as part of Sunday’s Rolling Loud California lineup, was instead arrested that day on the festival grounds.

Online arrest records show that Gunplay, whose set was confirmed to be called off in an X update from Rolling Loud, was arrested by the Baldwin Park Police Department on Sunday. A bond of $500,000 was initially listed, with a court date of March 18.

A rep from Rolling Loud confirmed to Complex on Monday that Lefty was arrested outside the festival grounds. At the time of writing, it’s unclear why exactly he was arrested.

Prior to the originally scheduled performance, Lefty had shared rehearsal footage to Instagram. Starting in April, he’s set to be on the road for a run of tour dates, starting with a show at the 801 Event Venter in Salt Lake City and wrapping later that month at Wicked West in San Diego.

The tour comes as Lefty’s star continues to rise after his appearance on Kendrick Lamar‘s GNX album last year, a blockbuster album that saw him among a host of LA-area rappers being given a moment to shine on one of 2024’s most-discussed releases.

In February, Lefty was forced to miss a show in Texas after a reported drug charges-related arrest. He later let fans know he was planning to make up that show, though official details on a new date hadn’t been shared as of this writing.
