A major milestone has been reached for the new Newcastle STACK, which is set to open in 2025 on Pilgrim Street. Now, a campaign is beginning to recruit top street food traders for the attraction, which will be based at Worswick Chambers, a Grade II listed building in the city.
Both regional and national traders can apply, with the new STACK bringing a big screen, a stage for live entertainment and the shipping containers which will house various food and drink options. The venue will have a total of nine street food units and nine bars, all with a distinct design.
The third floor will be home to several activities, for competitive socialising, including interactive darts, shuffleboard, beer pong and karaoke. There will also be a small number of street-facing retail units, including a coffee shop, YOLO Coffee & Kitchen.
Neill Winch, CEO of STACK, said: “This venue represents everything that STACK stands for – a unique blend of live entertainment, high-quality food and drink, and a real sense of community. Worswick Chambers is such an iconic location, and this project will breathe new life into the heart of the city.”
Gemma Dishman, Project Development Director for STACK, added: “STACK Newcastle will be a destination like no other. We’re focused on curating the very best street food traders from across the UK and bringing them together under one roof to create an exciting, dynamic experience.
“This is a unique opportunity for traders to showcase their food in a landmark venue, and we can’t wait to see the innovation and quality they bring to the table.”
