Mandy Moore Tells Amazon to ‘Do Better’ After Package Gets Delivered to In-Laws’ Burned Down Home

A delivery mishap had Mandy Moore publicly calling out Amazon.

The This Is Us actress criticized Amazon after one of its drivers mistakenly delivered a package to her in-laws’ Pasadena home, which had been destroyed in the recent Los Angeles wildfires.

She addressed the online retailer on her Instagram Story on Tuesday with a screenshot of Amazon’s delivery confirmation photo showing the Amazon package standing in front of the home’s ruins.

“Do better, Amazon,” wrote the 40-year-old. “Can we not have better discretion than to leave a package at a residence that no longer exists? This is my mother and father in law’s home. SMH.”

Steve Kelly, a spokesperson for the company, shared in a statement with TMZ that they’ve reached out to the “In My Pocket” singer via Instagram to apologize for the oversight and inquire for more information from her in-laws to investigate the matter.

“For weeks, we’ve advised those who are delivering on our behalf in southern California to use discretion in areas that were impacted by wildfires – especially if it involves delivering to a damaged home – that clearly didn’t happen here,” said Kelly.

Moore’s Altadena home was also ruined in the catastrophic fires. In a lengthy post, she recalled the terrifying night on Jan. 7 she and her family evacuated their home as the wildfires approached.

Despite never receiving an official evacuation notice, Moore explained she only left because her brother-in-law called, warning them to get out.

“I calmly walked downstairs and relayed this to my husband and without skipping a beat, we promptly packed up the kids (in their pjs), our dog, and scrambled to find our 3 cats as the power went out,” she recalled.

“I’ll never forget Taylor trying to figure out how to manually open our two little garage doors (they’d just finished construction around Thanksgiving and we’d just started using them—) in the harrowing 60 mph winds, as the sky glowed a dark red and ash started to fall all around us.”

By morning, the family was notified their home was gone, though later they learned while the structure remained, the surrounding destruction rendered most of their belongings unsalvageable due to the fire damage and smoke contamination.

“A month removed, I find myself drifting back to Altadena, driving up and down the streets while Lou naps in the car, still not able to fully comprehend all of it or what it means, or on my less optimistic days, how any of us move forward,” she continued. “I’m reaching out and asking for help and guidance on how to process this trauma because my brain and heart are so deeply broken.”
