Newcastle United are heading back to Wembley after a superb and professional display against the Gunners.
Despite switching to a five-man defence, Newcastle still looked a threat offensively and created plenty of chances on an unforgettable night at St James’ Park.
They snatched the lead on 19 minutes just moments after Martin Odegaard skimmed the post. Martin Dubravka’s resultant goal kick up the pitch was flicked on by Alexander Isak who worked the ball well with Anthony Gordon. Isak’s shot then smacked the post before Jacob Murphy hooked the ball past David Raya.
Gordon added a second on 52 minutes after Fabian Schar’s strong slide tackle played him in and Newcastle were on the road to Wembley again.

A smart decision to recall him for the big occasion. Made a host of clearances and kept the game calm when needed.
Fabian Schar 9
Got a vital touch to deny Odegaard when Arsenal star’s effort whistled past the post. A much improved display from Saturday. A superb slide tackle to set up Gordon.
Sven Botman 10
A Dutch defensive masterclass as he hit double figures in clearances. Some excellent and important contributions. An absolute brick wall that Arsenal couldn’t get past.
Dan Burn 8
The fierce competitor tackled and cleared all night.

Looked so comfortable on the ball.
Bruno Guimaraes 8
A strong performance with a bit of show-boating thrown in.
Sandro Tonali 8
A hard working display that helped lay the foundations.
Anthony Gordon 9
A genuine menace to Arsenal. Helped make one and score one to put Arsenal to the sword.
Jacob Murphy 9
Another goal as he played a huge part in this one. An England call-up can’t be far away if he keeps this up.
Alexander Isak 9
Arsenal can’t sign him and can’t live with him.
