Playboi Carti doesn’t seem to care for Adin Ross.
The “Magnolia” artist hopped on a Discord call with Kai Cenat, Young Dabo and ImDontai, where Cenat asked if Carti would do another stream. Though Cenat didn’t mention Ross by name, Carti read the subtext.
“Would you ever go on another stream?” Kai asked.
“Yeah, I got to,” Cash Carti said. “‘Cause, like, that Adin Ross sh*t, you know what I mean? I ain’t like that Adin Ross sh*t, bro. It wasn’t even supposed to be like that, no cap. You know what I’m saying? I wish that sh*t wasn’t like that, I don’t mean nothing negative, for real. … Honestly, he’s just not my type of n***a. So … It’s gon’ be awkward, you feel me?”
Carti made a short appearance on Ross’ Kick stream last February after performing with Travis Scott at the 2024 Grammys, per HipHopDX. At the time, Ross asked about Carti’s long-awaited album, which he described as “mind-blowing.”
“My best. My very best—it’s actually insane,” Carti explained.
The brief exchange lasted six minutes, ending when Ross gave Carti a bag of money.
It’s unclear how much cash was in the duffle bag. Prior to the stream, Adin revealed that he was paying Carti $2 million and including a Ferrari for his appearance.
On Friday, Carti dropped off I Am Music, which boasts appearances from Travis Scott, The Weeknd, Skepta, Future, Kendrick Lamar, Lil Uzi Vert, Ty Dolla Sign, and Young Thug. The offering follows Carti’s 2020 album, Whole Lotta Red.
