Playboi Carti’s ‘Opium’ Finsta Responds to Kai Cenat’s Plea for New Album Release

Playboi Carti has responded to Kai Cenat asking him to drop new music.

At the 52-second mark in the video linked below, Cenat was interviewed by Access Hollywood’s guest digital influencer Zach Sang at the Grammys red carpet and asked what he believes is “missing” from music in 2025.

“You know what we missing? The Playboy Carti album. He needs to drop, for real. Carti gotta drop. I know Carti gonna see this,” the 23-year-old said before looking into the camera. “Carti just drop. I’m on national TV. Drop, gang, you feel what I’m saying?”

“So yeah, that’s who we missing,” he continued. “In my world, a lot of people need that. So we need to make sure that happens. Hell yeah.”

It turns out that Carti did, in fact, see Cenat’s shout out.

Under his Opium account, the rapper reuploaded Cenat’s comments and responded with the caption, “IT DONT MATTER WHO SAID IT IT WAS SAID U CANT PAY FOR THAT #IAMMUSIC HE AINT HAVE TO DO THAT ! EITHER RESPECT.”

Carti’s long-awaited new album, tentatively titled I Am Music, would be the follow up to his 2020 album, Whole Lotta Red.

Although it’s not clear if these songs will make the cut, he dropped a number of loosies since 2023 including “Ur the Moon,” “BACKR00MS” with Travis Scott, “EVILJ0RDAN,” and “Ketamine.”
