A popular Sunderland bar and restaurant has been put up for sale.
Life of Riley is on the market as an investment sale with a £545,000 price tag, with its leisure destination set to be a tenant until 2034.
The bar, based on Green Terrace close to the city centre and the university, includes a large, open-plan trading area with seating for 120, a ‘VIP’ lounge with a separate bar and seating for an additional 50 guests, and an open-plan kitchen and bar servery.
The owners of the freehold have put it on the market through specialist property agency Christie & Co, who say it has very high footfall and forms part of a long-established circuit of licensed venues.
Marslie McGregor, business agent for pubs and restaurants at Christie & Co who is managing the sale, said: Life of Riley is an incredibly well-invested pub/bar and restaurant business in a prime spot in Sunderland town centre, forming an integral part of a long-established licensed circuit. Currently tenanted, to a longstanding and experienced operator, the property achieves a strong rental yield and presents a good opportunity for an investment buyer.”
It marks the second pub deal Christie & Co is hoping to broker in the area, coming weeks after Ms McGregor oversaw a deal to sell the Hylton Castle Arms. The former pub closed in 2023 and there are hopes it will now be redeveloped.
