Last year was a strong rollout year for Jorday, the rising pop-R&B singer from Nottingham.
Having released a string of well-received singles in “Bad News”, “Vibe”, “Slide” and “Black Out”, he returns today with the visuals for “In The Air”—his first drop in 2025—which has been getting a lot of love on the airwaves, namely Nadie Jae’s show on BBC Radio 1Xtra. Produced by Logxn and Kyu, Jorday croons over the Jersey-drill-inspired backdrop with ease about feeling the love in the air with his favourite lady, with the track already being the sound for dance challenges on TikTok.
“I’ve been spending time in different countries lately, soaking up new inspirations and writing in fresh environments,” Jorday tells us. “It’s been amazing to explore new sounds and perspectives, which really influenced the direction of my music. For ‘In The Air’, I wrote the track while I was in Paris, and the vibe of the place really seeped into the music. It started with a simple melody I had in my head, and from there, the lyrics flowed naturally. I wanted to create something that felt uplifting but also had a bit of edge, capturing that feeling of love and escape.”
Jorday has a lot planned for the year ahead: “I’m working on new collaborations and features with artists from the UK and abroad; I’ll be focusing heavily on expanding my presence internationally, especially in the US and Europe; I’m also planning to release a few more singles to keep the momentum going throughout the year, along with some exciting visual content to accompany them. Alongside this, I’m preparing for a headline show, and I’ve got my eyes on a few major festivals. There’s a lot in the works; I can’t wait to share it all.”
