Loose Women quickly switched to an ad break after Ruth Langsford seemed to throw a subtle shade at her ex Eamonn Holmes.
The 64 year old TV host, who announced her split from former This Morning co-star Eamonn, also 64, in May, returned to the popular ITV chat show on Tuesday (December 10). The couple had been together for over two decades and share a 22 year old son, Jack Holmes.
Ruth joined panelists Coleen Nolan, Kelly Holmes, and Mariella Frostrup as they tackled some of the day’s hot topics.
But it was during a discussion about whether parents should influence their adult children’s choice of partners that Ruth perked up, reports the Mirror.

Mariella kicked off the debate, remarking: “I just think it’s madness. You know for a fact no matter what position you take in your child’s life if you intrunch yourself too deeply they are going to do the opposite thing anyway.
“How on earth would the inclusion of someone in family life be worth the jeopardy of not talking to your child anymore, I just can’t imagine it.”
Coleen weighed in with her thoughts, saying: “I think it is important for parents to let their children find out for themselves and it might work out and they spend the rest of their lives together but it might be that they end up heartbroken and that’s when as a parent you step in.”

The topic quickly shifted towards how divorced parents deal with certain situations, where Ruth confessed: “I think it’s very selfish when you hear parents say well if they are divorced then I’m not coming to your wedding if he’s coming or if she is there and I just think it’s so selfish isn’t it because it is their day.”
Jumping into the conversation, Mariella added: “That’s a whole other subject isn’t it? How to divorce well.”
Ruth then cheekily referenced her recent parting ways with Eamonn as she retorted: “Oh tell me about it.”
Her comment caught everyone off guard, leading to an abrupt segue to a commercial as Ruth declared: “Anyway funnily it’s now time for a break”.
