The Fountain in South Shields welcomed customers back today (Friday, February 21). There are multiple improvements on both the interior and exterior of the pub.

Situated on Highfield Road, the Flaming Grill pub has been redecorated with improvements to the internal décor, additional indoor and outdoor seating, and the garden has also received a makeover.

Steve Burden, a regular of over 25 years, was on hand to cut the ribbon and get the first look. The Fountain is looking to support Steve with the charity he started in memory of his late son, Jack, who sadly passed away in Tanzania. Since the charity was established, Steve has raised money to build two extra classrooms in the village Jack visited.

Vanessa Lee, general manager at The Fountain, said: “This refurbishment has allowed us to enhance every aspect of our offering to our customers. We hope our visitors will enjoy the new look and feel, and we can’t wait to welcome them back.”
