Serena Williams popped out for Kendrick Lamar’s Super Bowl Halftime show.
The tennis icon took it back to her Compton roots and Crip walked during Dot’s performance of his Drake diss track “Not Like Us,” outfitted in blue Chuck Taylors, a blue tennis skirt, and a matching jacket.
Williams has vocalized her love for “Not Like Us.” Last July, she called the track the “hit of the summer.”
“I love that song. It’s like the hit of the summer. When they play that jam, I’m jamming,” she said at the time. “That jam is jamming.”
She also revealed that she still Crip walks “all the time,” especially to “Not Like Us.”
Drake and Serena were rumored to be romantically involved years ago. Last August, he confirmed that his 2016 Views album cut, “Too Good” with Rihanna was about Williams.
A year after the album’s arrival, she married Reddit co-founder Alexis Ohanian and they welcomed their first child together that same year, in 2017.
Drake has since taken shots at Ohanian, calling him a “groupie” on his 2022 Her Loss track “Middle of the Ocean.” Ohanian fired back on X, writing, “The reason I stay winning is because I’m relentless about being the best at whatever I do—including being the best groupie for my wife & daughter.”
Of course, that’s not the last of Drizzy and Alexis’ back and forth. Last June, Ohanian trolled Drake following Kenny’s “The Pop-Out: Ken and Friends” concert.
Ohanian quote-tweeted a clip of Dot performing “Not Like Us” five consecutive times at the show with a famous clip of Kobe Bryant letting off some caustic words—which some might consider a jab in the 6 God’s direction.
“I’m going to beat you,” the late NBA legend said. “I’m going to let you know I beat you. And I’m gonna want you to reconsider your professional life choice.”
