Tesco has axed two popular breakfast cereal products, Tesco’s Apricot Wheats and Kellogg’s Apricot Wheats, from its UK stores. The supermarket giant confirmed the decision after customers enquired about the missing cereals on social media.
Concerned shoppers, including one from Baldock who had not seen their favourite Kellogg’s Apricot Wheats in weeks, sought answers from Tesco. A user on X highlighted that while other varieties like Blueberry and Frosted remained on shelves, the apricot flavour was nowhere to be found.
They posted: “What’s happened to the *apricot* version of your Kellogg wheat cereals? For several weeks now you’ve had the other varieties but no Apricot wheats. First you took away the Honey Monster Puffs, and now this.”
Subsequent to the query, Tesco responded with an official statement: “Hi there, the Tesco Apricot Wheats cereal has been discontinued and is no longer ranged in any of our stores. I am so sorry for any inconvenience this has caused.”

The customer returned to the conversation, specifying that they were inquiring about the Kellogg’s branded item, aware that the supermarket’s own-brand equivalent had been off the shelves for “several years”. They mentioned finding the product at their local Sainsbury’s but not at Tesco, reports the Mirror.
The store’s customer support promised to look into the product’s availability. Despite this, the Kellogg’s Apricot variant of the cereal is not listed on the grocery chain’s website.
Yet, it can be found online at Sainsbury’s, Asda, and Ocado, with prices varying from £1.95 to £2.45 for a 500g box. When probed by the Mirror, the supermarket confirmed the discontinuation of the item across all its UK outlets.
In explaining the decision, the supermarket highlighted that it routinely revises its stock to reflect supplier input and shopper demand.
