The Masked Singer UK’s sixth season is nearing its thrilling finale on ITV, and fans are eager to uncover the remaining characters’ true identities.
Seven celebs have already been revealed. Good Morning Britain’s Kate Garraway and Bake Off’s Prue Leith were unmasked as Spag Bol and Pegasus in the first episode. They were followed by 90s pop sensation Macy Gray and T’Pau’s Carol Decker, who were hiding behind Toad in the Hole and Tattoo.
Presenter Mel Giedroyc was then revealed as Teeth before artist Grayson Perry and Irish songstress Andrea Corr were unveiled last Saturday (February 1) as Kingfisher and Snail, reports the Mirror.
Interestingly, less than half of the eliminated stars are professional singers, with two bowing out early – remember Macy Gray’s dramatic exit after the judges saved a lesser vocalist?

Now, only five characters remain – Bear, Bush, Dressed Crab, Pufferfish, and Wolf. Judging by their vocals, it seems that four are singers, while one clearly isn’t. So, do they deserve a spot in the semi-finals?
Viewers were gobsmacked last week when Pufferfish – arguably the show’s most impressive vocalist ever – landed in the bottom three despite delivering a mesmerising performance of Barbra Streisand’s 1964 musical theatre classic Don’t Rain on My Parade.
In a shocking turn of events, Bush managed to scrape through the audience vote, despite their vocal abilities being a far cry from those of their fellow contestants.
The decision sparked outrage among fans on X (formerly Twitter), with one user fuming: “The best singers are objectively Pufferfish and Dressed Crab, so of course the studio audience put Pufferfish in the bottom three!”

Another fan said, “Pufferfish in the bottom 3 when they’re the best singer in the show is WILD,” while a third exclaimed: “This audience needs to sort their lives out, tbh. Pufferfish is the clear winner, she shouldn’t be in the bottom. Bush should have been.”
A fourth viewer shared the same sentiment: “Well, Bush is a fan favourite, managing to beat Macy Gray, Carol Decker, and now Andrea Corr!”
While Bush has undoubtedly been a delight to watch, their continued presence in the competition at the expense of more talented singers has sucked the fun out of the show. It’s no secret that the younger audience members are drawn to the more adorable characters, as evidenced by Alex Brooker, aka Bigfoot, coming in second last year ahead of accomplished singers like Lemar, Tiffany, Keala Settle, and Melody Thornton.
Perhaps it’s time to consider a separate season featuring only non-professional singers. Until then, it’s clear who deserves a spot in the final – after all, this is The Masked Singer.
