The One Show’s Alex Jones welcomed a fresh face to the sofa on Wednesday (March 12), shaking things up for the beloved chat show.
Since taking over from Christine Bleakley in the summer of 2010, Alex has become a staple on BBC’s The One Show, sharing the screen with a host of well-known personalities.
The current roster of regular presenters boasts names like Ronan Keating, Roman Kemp, and Lauren Laverne, while stars such as Rylan Clarke, Zoe Ball, and Vernon Kay step in as guest hosts whenever there’s a gap.
Over the years, Alex has shared the iconic green couch with other notable co-hosts, including Chris Evans from 2010 until 2015 and Jason Manford during her first year.
Her most enduring partnership was with Matt Baker, who bid farewell to The One Show in 2020 after a nine-year run, reports the Manchester Evening News.

Last year also saw the exit of ex-footballer Jermaine Jenas, who had been part of the team alongside Alex for three years before his BBC departure.
Hot on the heels of his runner-up finish in last year’s Strictly Come Dancing, JLS star JB Gill stepped into the presenting spotlight on Wednesday night, having previously contributed reports to the programme.
With a warm welcome, Alex introduced viewers to JB, commenting: “Welcome to mid-week One Show and look who’s by my side, we’ve stolen him from JLS. It’s JB Gill!”
To which the 38-year-old Londoner responded: “They’ll be fine without me. It’s a pleasure to be here and what a treat of a show we’ve got lined up for you.”
The One Show studio was abuzz with excitement as JB Gill took to his Instagram to share a nostalgic moment with fans: spotting a JLS photo adorning the walls. “Dropping into The One Show, hosting my first show tonight and look what who I’ve seen on the walls. Come on,” he enthused to his followers.

JB isn’t exactly new to the telly scene; he shot to fame with JLS after their stand-out stint on the X-Factor in 2008, where they were runners-up to Alexandra Burke.
JLS soared to the top, bagging five UK number one singles, clinching two Brit awards, and selling over 10 million records across the globe.
In recent years, JB has turned to presenting and turkey farming. He kicked off his presenting career through CBeebies’ Down on the Farm alongside Storm Huntly.
But that’s not all – JB’s also been the face of many an episode of BBC’s Songs of Praise, showcasing gospel choirs and spreading some spiritual joy on the weekly religious show.
The One Show continues weekdays on BBC One from 7pm.
