Stag and hen parties can step into the high-stakes world of Netflix’s global smash TV show, Squid Game, in Newcastle – without the deadly consequences.
Fans of the hit series can take part in a not-so-fatal version of the show as part of an adrenaline-packed stag or hen weekend in Newcastle city centre. The United Kingdom’s leading stag and hen organiser, Last Night of Freedom, who are based in Gateshead, has already booked up more than 1,000 thrill-seeking nearly-weds for the white-knuckle experience.
The game features challenges inspired and made famous by Squid Game, including Red Light, Green Light, the Dalgona Honeycomb Challenge, Tug of War, Marbles and the infamous Bridge. Those who have seen the show will know just how brutal the games can be.
But the same fate will not befall the players of the games in Newcastle. Players will be guided by hosts dressed in the iconic Squid Game uniforms and will battle it out while guards ‘eliminate’ players with Nerf guns in a fiercely-fun competition.
Matt Mavir, managing director at Last Night of Freedom said: “We’ve seen a massive surge in demand for experiences inspired by TV shows, and Squid Game is leading the way. An initial surge in interest in taking part has been reignited as the second season returned to Netflix a few weeks ago.
“People love recreating the drama and challenges they see on screen, with activities like this bringing something completely unique to the celebrations of our customers. It’s the perfect mix of competition, laughter and camaraderie – and for Squid Game fans, it’s a dream come true.”
The experience takes place on Collingwood Street and lasts around one-and-a-half hours. Matt added: “Newcastle is incredibly popular with our customers, and with unique activities like this one it’s not hard to understand why.
“Even if you’re not a fan of the show, it’s still a load of fun and allows stag and hen groups to push their limits and share an unforgettable experience. We’ve tried it ourselves, and it’s one of the most exhilarating activities we’ve ever offered.”
