Alison Hammond is in full celebration mode for her 50th birthday, and the team at This Morning pulled out all the stops to ensure it’s unforgettable. Despite it being her day off, Alison welcomed the cameras and Jeff Brazier into her lovely Birmingham home for her birthday surprise.
With a bouquet in tow, Jeff entered Alison’s kitchen to deliver warm birthday wishes straight from Ben and Cat via video link. The birthday girl, who humorously remarked that it was “okay on the fifth floor,” also shared that it was her son Aiden’s milestone 20th birthday. In a playful twist, Jeff came equipped with a blindfold for Alison as the crew had lined up a backyard surprise featuring the Magic Mike cast doing their dance routine, prompting an ecstatic Alison to exclaim, “Oh my gosh I’m loving this, yes boys!”
Following the show, she jovially hinted at hot tub time, urging the crew to “turn off the cameras”. Expressing gratitude for all the well wishes she had received, Alison said, “If it ended tomorrow I’ve had a great life.”
To top it off, This Morning arranged heartfelt video tributes from her celeb pals including Ant and Dec, and The Traitors‘ Minah, while Dermot O’Leary shared a deeply affectionate message, noting how it’s been one of the ‘great pleasures of his life’ to know and work with Alison.
Alongside a picture of them presenting This Morning, Dermot wrote: “Happy Birthday to one of the finest humans I know. The best Mother, friend, counsel, and travelling companion. Makes the world a better place, just by doing her thing, one smile at a time. Happy Birthday Babs, it’s a pleasure to share your orbit xx.”
Yet, among the birthday wishes, one stood out from none other than Harrison Ford. The memory of that legendary interview with Ryan Gosling, which left everyone in stitches, is unforgettable even for Harrison, reports the Mirror.
Sending his best, the iconic Indiana Jones actor reminisced: “Alison, I remember meeting you one morning with my friend Ryan,” as he chuckled about having a drink. “They told me you’re 50 years old now,” he went on, before playfully chiding: “Grow up! “.
In a heart-to-heart with OK!, Alison reflected on her milestone, saying: “It just feels like another year,” and shared that there were no grand celebrations on the horizon. “I had the big bash when I turned 48 – and Aidan turned 18 – and it was wonderful. But it took a lot of preparation. I’m not in the mood this year! I just want to chill out,” she confessed.
She said: “What’s incredible is how quickly the time goes. I’d urge people to enjoy their lives, spend time with loved ones and be present. Nowadays, I only want to do what makes me happy.”
