Tommy Richman isn’t letting his foot off the gas.
Following his incredible breakout year, the Virginia-born artist returned this week with “Actin Up” — his first proper single of 2025. The song strays from the smooth R&B funk-infused sound that dominated his 2024 debut album Coyote as it is more in line with his high-energy outputs “Devil Is Lie” and “Million Dollar Baby,” the latter of which topped Billboard’s US Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Songs chart and peaked at No. 2 on the Billboard Hot 100.
“‘Actin Up’ is a statement piece made a few months ago as an act of frustration and feeling underestimated,” Richman said in a press release. “It’s an anthem that speaks about giving an underdog a chance.”
You can listen to the song now on all major streaming platforms. Its official video will drop at 10 a.m. PT on Friday.
“Actin Up” arrives just weeks before Richman kicks off Coyote’s supporting world tour. The trek, featuring fellow DMV rapper mynameisntjmack, will begin February 19 in Seattle and will include stops in Los Angeles, Austin, Atlanta, New York City, and Berlin before wrapping up May 5 in London.
