Vote for your top place to go for fish and chips in the North East ahead of Good Friday

As we head towards what will be the busiest day of the year for fish and chip restaurants and takeaways, we want you to tell us your favourite chippy in the North East. And we will crown your winner on Good Friday.

Just like we know all about just how many amazing beaches we have in the region, from Sandhaven to Cullercoats and Bamburgh to Roker, here at ChronicleLive we have written a lot about the great places we also have on our doorstep to go for fish and chips. And, just like with where does the best Sunday dinners, we know you have some pretty strong opinions on where the top chippy is in this neck of the woods.

So, with that in mind, we have created a form that will let you nominate your favourite fish and chip restaurant, which we will then use to tally the votes and compile a top 5, before launching a new vote to find the winner. All over the coast there are some great contenders, many of which have large queues outside of them every Good Friday and all through the summer.

And you might have a chippy at the end of your road that you swear by or maybe there’s own in the middle of your hometown or in Newcastle city centre that is your go-to, whether it be for classic fish and chips, cod bites, battered sausage of chips with curry sauce. With new ones opening all the time, there are definitely plenty to choose from!

We will be closing the vote on Tuesday, so you have three days to get your nominations in. To make it as fair as possible, we’re not going to make any suggestions, we just want you to let us know your favourite. Who wins? You decide!
