Ye only had kind words for Kendrick Lamar’s Super Bowl Halftime Show.
In a clip posted online, Ye said that he “really loved the show,” comparing it to Michael Jackson’s halftime show in 1993.
He continued, “It was my favorite halftime show since like the Michael Jackson era, which I kinda just barely remember. I’ve just be seeing clips of it. [Lamar’s] was super simple. The flag was fresh. They did ‘Be Humble’—the way people’s heads were moving, I was just like shook. This is like super fresh. The man’s voice control, all that. Then they build up the controversy on whether he’s gonna do the record [‘Not Like Us’]. And then at the end, I’m seeing people say, ‘This is the worst halftime show.’ Everybody I talked to in real life said, ‘This is the best halftime show.’”
On Sunday night, Dot took to the stage at the Super Bowl LIX Halftime Show for an already legendary performance, where he played a medley of old and new hits. The performance was also rife with symbolism and subs aimed at Drake—like Kenny’s lowercase A chain—though Lamar also openly dissed Drizzy when he looked directly into the camera, smiled, and uttered the 6 God’s name.
MJ performed at Super Bowl XXVII over 30 years ago, which saw the Dallas Cowboys defeat the Buffalo Bills.
